Environmental Services Attendant - Weekend Part-Time

Reporting to the Supervisor, Environmental Services, this position is responsible for performing various cleaning tasks, movement of equipment and furniture, and floor care maintenance to provide patients, visitors and health sciences staff with a safe and clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation and freedom from hazards and infections. Reporting to the Supervisor of Environmental Services, this position is responsible for performing various cleaning tasks, relocating equipment and furniture, and maintaining floor care to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. This is accomplished by upholding high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and eliminating hazards and infections. Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. Completes required training and continuing education, including department-specific requirements. Complies with established personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances. Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas. Cleans toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, and apartments during vacancy; scrubs walls; dusts; and vacuums furniture, fixtures, doors, and related furnishings using appropriate cleaning supplies. Cleans common areas, offices, public restrooms, exercise rooms, Teen Arts and Crafts Rooms, dining areas, and other rooms that support activities for patients, parents, and staff. Operates and maintains industrial vacuums, carpet shampooing machines, and upholstery cleaning equipment. Removes waste bags and containers. Cleans restrooms, locker rooms, lounges, storage areas, toy rooms, administrative offices, windows, equipment rooms, closets, and all common spaces within the plaza. Maintains rooms so they are available for prompt reuse by cleaning ledges, fixtures, walls, vents, and lights. Performs terminal cleaning of all apartments between vacancies. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning tables, floors, lights, vents, ceilings, walls, furniture, beds, closets, kitchens, stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, dishes, and pots and pans. Meets deadlines for special projects and daily responsibilities, and communicates all accomplishments and any unfinished tasks to the supervisor. Manages waste removal and linen collection for designated work areas. Collects and transports linen to the laundry service area for washing and restocking; washes and folds linen for future use. Collects, transports, cleans, and stocks all houseware items. Collects and transports all staging items to the staging area for future use. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Performs other related duties as assigned to support the goals of the department and institution. Minimum Education and/or Training: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum Experience: Previous experience in Environmental Services within a hospital or hotel environment is preferred. Previous experience with housekeeping-related equipment operations is also preferred. On occasion, the employee may be exposed to infectious diseases. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
