This position

will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of youth in a structured and nurturing environment. By providing safe, nutritious meals and stepping in to assist staff and youth as needed, you will help create a positive and supportive atmosphere aligned with our mission.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute in various ways, including

:

- Preparing and Cooking Meals-

Create meals using provided recipes and menus while following food safety and sanitation standards to ensure nutritious and high-quality dishes.

- Maintaining a Clean and Organized Space-

Keep the kitchen and work areas tidy and safe, fostering a welcoming and efficient environment.

- Providing Support When Needed-

Assist staff, respond to support calls, and supervise youth as required, promoting a collaborative and caring atmosphere.

- Ensuring Smooth Meal Service-

Deliver meals to the serving line, monitor food supplies during service, and help ensure everyone receives meals efficiently and on time.

## MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Maryland Correctional Training Commission regulation.

Experience: One (1) year of experience cooking, baking or preparing large quantities of food in a restaurant, institutional or military setting. Experience in a fast-food restaurant or as a short-order cook does not qualify.

Notes:

1. The above educational requirement is set by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission in accordance with Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209, Annotated Code of Maryland.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Food Services classifications or Food Services specialty codes in the Equipment, Facilities and Services field of work on a year-for-year basis forthe required experience.
