Position Title:             Housekeeping Technician

Reports To:                 Housekeeping Supervisor

General Description:  The Housekeeping Technician is responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the condominium premises, ensuring a well-maintained environment for all residents and staff. Housekeepers are primarily responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of common areas of the Association.

Location:                     Ventnor City, Atlantic County, NJ

Type of Position:        Full Time.

Schedule:                    This schedule is a 40-hour schedule but flexes week to week.

Education:                  High school diploma or equivalent. Trade school education and trade certificates are a plus.

Experience:                 A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Housekeeping Technician in a hotel, rental property, or other capacity is preferred. Condominium and/or HOA experience is a plus.

Compensation:          Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Can lift fifty (50) pounds.
  • Have physical stamina.
  • The ability to perform tasks, such as but not limited to, requiring repetitive motion, lifting, bending, manual labor, exposure to exterior conditions and standing for extended periods.
  • Be able to climb ladders up to twenty (20) feet high. Not be afraid of heights.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including but not limited to, exposure to heat, wind, cold, and exterior elements.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as is needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in housekeeping and/or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping equipment and procedures, such as but not limited to, carpet cleaning, vacuums, buffers, window cleaning, elevator threshold cleaning, processing housekeeping work orders and completing cleaning schedules.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
  • Always project a positive attitude with a “Can Do” attitude while performing all maintenance duties.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English is mandatory.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
  • Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing.
  • Follow the dress code and always present a professional image.
  • Always be helpful and polite.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities: The Housekeeping Technician’s responsibilities are, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Keeping facilities and common areas clean and maintained.
  • Perform shift work schedules and special projects as assigned each shift.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
  • Cleaning and stocking restrooms.
  • Cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment.
  • Notifying managers of necessary repairs.
  • Collecting and disposing of trash.
  • Assisting guests when necessary.
  • Keeping the linen room stocked.
  • Properly cleaning upholstered furniture.
  • Perform exterior cleaning as required.
  • Oversee and perform seasonal tasks such, but not limited to, snow removal, opening and closing of the cabanas.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Keep accurate records of housekeeping activities, and inventory of supplies.
  • Knowledgeable about all community amenities.
  • When an emergency arises, the housekeeping staff will assist the maintenance staff as needed.
  • Enforcement of the 5000 Rules and Regulations as outlined in the Resident Handbook.
