As a Cook at UNH's Holloway Commons Dining Hall, you'll play a vital role in supporting students and the campus community by preparing fresh, high-quality meals in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Duties & Responsibilities

Prep, prepare, and present menu items according to standard or cycle menus using standardized recipes.

Operate a full range of kitchen equipment as directed (as outlined in the job description).

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and service equipment.

Support efficient service, superior guest experience, and adherence to operational standards.

Problem-solve alongside staff to address operational challenges while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

Participate in the orientation and training of team members to foster a positive work environment.

Assist and provide direction to student co-workers.

Monitor food quality, including presentation, temperature, and sanitation compliance.

Record and maintain logs related to food temperatures, quantities prepared, served, returned, or discarded as required.

Communicate guest feedback, equipment issues, or suggestions to the immediate supervisor.

Remain flexible in work assignments, including changes in work area or duties, to meet departmental needs.

Willingly adjust schedule as needed to maintain high levels of guest service.

Demonstrate respectful and collaborative behavior toward coworkers and student employees, as outlined in the UNH Hospitality Handbook.

Comply with all local and state health codes.

Identify, report, and help correct unsafe or unsanitary practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize.

Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.

Must be able to physically meet the demands of the position including lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing loads up to 50 lbs.

1 Year Experience

ServSafe Certified or ability to obtain.

Knowledge of food service techniques, sanitation, and safety.

Must have a guest service passion and the ability to work with diverse teams.

Proficiency in various cooking methods (i.e., roasting, braising, sauteing).
