From Bari, Italy, to New York, Gelateria Gentile is on a journey of growth! With five active locations and more on the horizon, were seeking an experienced professional to lead our expanding operations in the New York area.
The pastry cook will primarily prepare pastries, desserts, and other items according to Gelateria Gentile's recipe. The position is seasonal, through the end of September 2025 , with the potential to become a regular role depending on performance .
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and create a variety of pastries using our equipment and recipes.
Ensure the highest quality standards in all gelato and pastry production aspects, including ingredient selection, measurement accuracy, and consistent production.
Operate and maintain our machines, ensuring they are clean, calibrated, and in optimal working condition.
Interact with other team members in a positive, friendly manner.
Assist in inventory management, including monitoring ingredient levels, organizing stock, and placing orders when necessary.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, following health and safety guidelines.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
2+ years in a pastry or gelato position.
Basic math and measuring skills.
Availability to work weekends.
NYC Food Handler Card.
Bilingual (English/Spanish ) is preferred.
