The Dishwasher performs all duties related to dishwashing and maintaining general cleanliness of the metro food production facility in accordance with team and facility Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and smallwares.
- Ensure all cleaned items are properly stored in their designated spots on the clean racks.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, drains, walls, and shelves in the dish area. Keep dish room floor clear of any dry or liquid debris.
- Clean dish room using hot water, hoses, cleaning chemicals, scrub pads, and brushes according to established SOPs and to meet company standards.
- Empty trash containers and replace liners in the dish room and elsewhere in the facility as communicated by facility leadership.
- Replenish dish room supplies as needed. Notify Team Member responsible for purchasing supplies of any impending shortages before supplies are exhausted.
- Utilize cleaning checklists and adhere to Safety and Master Sanitation Schedule Operating Procedures.
- Follow established hazardous material safety procedures.
- Comply with established procedures, including health and sanitation and safe work practices.
- Practice safe use of tools and equipment required by position.
- Practice proper care and maintenance of equipment.
- Help with any cleaning emergencies that occur in the facility.
- Report all life safety and fire hazards, along with any other violations of company policy to facility leadership for correction and report all accidents and injuries to Team Leader or facility leadership immediately.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned and other duties/special projects as assigned by facility leadership.
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures, effective time management and organization skills.
- Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must adhere to company dress code and standards of production kitchen dress and PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- May require use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $21.50-$35.00 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
