Maintenance Mechanic

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity, and safely working at heights. Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, fluids, concentrated chemicals, and transport vehicles. Meet fitness for duty criteria under Company Medical Management Program. Inspect mechanical equipment and structure for wear, damage and safety issues. Troubleshoot operation of mechanical equipment and structure. Perform documented preventive maintenance rounds and complete detailed log sheets of emergency and non- emergency work performed during the shift. emergency work performed during the shift. Adjust equipment or structure as required. Ability to work swing shifts. Remove, repair or replace inoperative or unsafe equipment or structure in all production areas. Fabricate and install new structure and equipment. Proficient in all position welding and use of oxygen and acetylene torch. Complete checklists and work order paperwork. Use precision measuring devices to set bearings, measure shaft/sprocket sizes and align couplings. Communicate both verbally and in writing with coworkers and supervisors. Perform housekeeping as necessary. Other job related duties as assigned.
