Northwood Club was established in 1946, we are a premier country club located in Dallas, Texas, we are best known for hosting the U.S. Open in 1952. The club currently has a Distinguished Emerald Club of the World from Boardroom Magazine for its outstanding member service. We have been recognized as Overall Best Club in Avid Golfer Magazine from 2022-2024. Our staff is a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary. The club provides all the facilities and events that professionals or families need to entertain, socialize and recreate.
We are currently looking for a part-time bartender to help out on busy evenings and fill in when full time bartenders are out. Candidate must have previous bartending experience. Other duties include taking food and beverage orders, serves guests food and beverage items in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Provides exceptional beverage & dining experiences for every member and guest. Ability to make variety of popular and classic cocktails, beer and wine knowledge required.
Essential Duties:
- Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
- Describes any drink specials or menu items of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
- Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers to guests promptly after preparation.
- Follows-up with guest to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed.
- Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
- Maintain organized workstation and side work duties.
- Accountable for member charges. Utilizes Point of Sales System.
- Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
- Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques.
- Insure bar is properly set-up and stocked, requisitions filled.
- Takes responsibility of all alcohol service and storage of alcohol during their shift. Follows all state laws.
- Maintian cleanliness of bar at opening and closing.
- Learn and make all specialty cocktails designed by Dining Room Manager.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: English is required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates/Licenses: Texas Alcohol Beverage Certification
Environment/Noise: Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
