Duties and Responsibilities

Clean offices, board rooms and common areas of the administration building

Mop tiled floor areas

Vacuum all carpeted areas

Dust all furniture and fixtures as necessary

Wash and disinfect all washroom floors and fixtures

Empty all waste and garbage cans

Clean entrance areas including glass, floors, doors, and hardware

Clean kitchen sinks, tables, and counters

Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment

Ability to read and understand labels and instructions on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

On a regular basis the custodian works with dangerous cleaning chemicals that can be harmful if not properly utilized. The custodian must exercise caution when using products in a confined area

This is a physically demanding position that requires the custodian to spend the majority of their work time standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, operating cleaning equipment, moving furniture, sweeping and mopping floors.

Capable of climbing ladders and stairs

Able to lift up to 100lbs.

Pay Scale & Benefits

The starting wage for this position is $23/hour, with potential adjustments based on skills, experience and qualifications.
