We are excited to be partnering with a premier food manufacturer to help them find their next Bilingual 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician! About the Role The 2nd Shift Line Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing the performance of production machinery, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC systems, boilers, and related utilities. This role plays a critical function in minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and ensuring compliance with safety and food safety regulations. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required for effective communication with team members across departments. Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on production lines and utility systems. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues. Calibrate sensors, rebuild pumps, and complete PMs on compressors. Maintain boilers, cooling towers, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Production Support Conduct equipment setups and changeovers. Collaborate with production to ensure machinery supports output goals. Assist operators with technical support and equipment use. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system logs. Follow GMPs, OSHA safety protocols, and company policies. Ensure chemical levels are monitored and maintained per operational standards. Team Support & Inventory Management Train junior mechanics and operators on proper equipment handling. Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate reorders with purchasing. Prioritize assigned work orders based on urgency and production impact. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or industrial maintenance preferred. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, with at least 5 years of progressive experience in ammonia/HVAC systems. Certifications: Must be certified in Ammonia Refrigeration and HVAC systems in the State of Florida. Other: Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25%. Required Skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency (verbal and written). Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems, HVAC, and boiler operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance software (e.g., MaintainX). Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools. Knowledge of NFPA 70e safety standards. Dependable, organized, and proactive in a fast-paced environment. Availability to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 12:30 AM). Preferred Skills Experience in a manufacturing environment. Additional technical certifications.
