HD Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher - Full Time (Harrah's Joliet)

Step into a hands-on role that keeps Harrahs shininginside and out! As a Back-of-House Sanitation Hero , HD Steward, you'll power through daily tasks like scrubbing floors, shampooing carpets, cleaning windows, and maintaining the casinos polished appearance from ceiling vents to valet zones. You'll be part of a hard-working team that takes pride in flawless service, seasonal transformations, and using specialized equipment to make every surface sparkle. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Cleaning and filtering of deep fryers.
• Deep cleaning of all kitchen cooking equipment including grills, ovens and stove tops.
• Deep clean freezer floors.
• Deep cleaning of all kitchen and VIP bar floor mats.
• Cleaning of all floor drains.
• Sweep, mop and scrub all back of house floors.
• Polish all stainless steel walls, hoods and equipment.
• Must be able to perform various miscellaneous, duties as directed.
• Provides fast and flawless service to internal customers.
• Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrahs and encourages others to do the same.
• Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
• Completes all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior cleaning, maintenance or kitchen experience preferred.
• Must have knowledge of proper chemical usage and Standard operational procedures.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays and weekends.

JOB DEMANDS :

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Position requires 10% standing, 90% walking.
• Requires very frequent bending, pushing, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping and reaching overhead.
• Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues.
• Must be able to work in an area containing secondary smoke.
• Work involves contact with cleaning solvent and chemicals.
• Must be able to read, understand, and tolerate the usage of cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal customer contact.

Compensation & Work Schedule:

• $15.00 per hour.
• Employment Type - Full -Time
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Shifts are generally 9:30 pm-6:00 am.
