POSITION GOAL:
- To maintain safety and cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, administrative offices, and any other areas inside and outside each building.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma.
- Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation to the business office before expiration date of said document(s).
- Must be able to lift at least 80 lbs.
- Must be flexible with working hours.
- Must be proficient with email, and capable of learning our online work order system.
- Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
- Must have regular and reliable job attendance, performance, and the physical ability to do the job.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Vacuum all carpet in rooms and halls.
- Dust mop and wet mop all tile floors.
- Clean all sinks, fixtures and drinking fountains.
- Empty all trashcans and install new liners, clean inside and out as needed.
- Refill all paper towel, toilet tissue and soap dispensers.
- Clean all mirrors.
- Clean and disinfect all toilets and urinals.
- Do minor repair work and assist in some maintenance.
- Load and unload supplies.
- Relieve, assist or fill in on other jobs as assigned by supervisor.
- Attempt to remove black marks, playdough and food from floors.
- Dust all mini blinds.
- Dust all rooms.
- Clean all restroom partitions.
- Brush and sweep carpet at baseboard and carpet edge.
- Clean light fixtures.
- Sweep under desks and other hard to reach places with small sweeper.
- Wash windows inside and out.
- Clean outside of wooden cabinets.
- Clean counter tops.
- Clean chairs and dust chair legs in conference rooms.
- Empty recycling boxes.
- Help with lawn maintenance and snow removal as assigned by supervisor.
- Scrub and/or strip and wax floors and shampoo carpet.
- Set up tables, chairs, etc. for meetings and other events in school or office.
- Secure the school and the office at the end of your shift.
- make sure lights are off.
- make sure all windows and doors are locked.
- Clean all tools and equipment after use and store in their proper place.
- Clean all wastebaskets and garbage cans as needed.
- Touch up scratches in woodwork.
- Report any trouble in heating or cooling system.
- Report any damage to school property.
- Know location and proper care and use of all fire equipment.
- Know the location of emergency power, gas, and water shutoff’s.
- Clean ventilating vents in restrooms.
- Clean AV carts.
- Clean and check bulbs in exit lights.
- Clean storerooms.
- maintenance store rooms.
- air handling store room.
- boiler rooms.
- Other duties as assigned by the St. Joseph County Administration.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS: Facilities and Transportation Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A 260-day position. Salary and condition of employment are determined by the Board of Education.
