In this role, you will work effectively in a diverse manufacturing work environment using prudent judgment at all times, performing duties in a safe manner, and assuring the professional quality of services to all external and internal customers.
Here is some of what you will be doing:
- Perform facility & grounds-related functions
- Assist other grounds and maintenance personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Perform assigned painting tasks as directed to maintain attractive facilities and minimize damage.
- Install system component parts, classroom and office equipment, and facility components
- Clean and perform minor repairs of gutters, drains, and scuppers
- Safely operate and maintain shop tools and/or equipment
- Request equipment and supplies
- Respond to emergency situations
Who should apply?
Professionals with:
- High school diploma or GED
- A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability and desire to learn, with 8 years of related work experience
- The ability to obtain certification to operate powered vehicular equipment such as, but not limited to; burden carriers, fork trucks, aerial lifts, etc.
- Must possess a reasoning ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in routine situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- The ability to interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and other documents and to safely operate all company equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Physical requirements
This job requires:
- Sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties.
- Both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment
- Lifting, carrying and pushing tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 25lbs or more
- Your work to be performed in all weather conditions including wet, hot, and cold
- Climbing ladders, using power and noise-producing tools/equipment, driving motorized vehicles and heavy equipment
- Working in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often interruptions
- The ability to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate the required equipment and a motor vehicle
- The ability to work roofs of buildings, and in closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
Subject to call 24 hours per day and required to work in all weather conditions
