Pay Range
$18.00 per hour
Job Duties:
* General Maintenance and Repair:
* Performing routine and preventative maintenance on the resort's physical structures, facilities, and equipment.
* Completing minor repairs to rental units and amenities.
* Addressing routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs related to electrical systems, plumbing, sewage, construction, and streets.
* Inspecting and repairing irrigation systems, playground equipment, pool/spa areas, and other recreational amenities.
* Groundskeeping and Appearance:
* Ensuring the resort grounds and facilities are clean and presentable at all times.
* Performing lawn care services such as weed control, raking leaves, planting flowers/shrubs, and trimming hedges.
* Picking up trash and debris from common areas and streets daily.
* Cleaning resort amenities like clubhouses, restrooms, and laundry areas.
* Safety and Operations:
* Maintaining resort vehicles and equipment.
* Following safety procedures while operating vehicles and performing duties.
* Ensuring resort streets and public access routes are free of hazards.
* Maintaining resort pools, including testing and adjusting chemical levels.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is usually necessary, and prior maintenance experience, particularly in a similar resort setting, is often preferred.
* Skills: Key skills include a good understanding of general maintenance and repair techniques, proficiency with hand and power tools, and basic knowledge of areas like plumbing, electrical work, and groundskeeping. Strong communication and customer service skills are also important, along with the ability to work independently and with a team. Basic computer skills may also be required.
* Physical Abilities: The role may involve working outdoors in various temperatures and requires the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
* Other: Availability to be on-call for after-hours needs and the ability to write clear reports are also common requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Basic computer proficiency: Including email and internet usage.
* Strong communication and customer service skills: Interacting with guests and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
* Ability to provide legible written reports: Documenting work performed and any issues encountered.
* Proficient in using hand tools, power equipment, and machinery: Including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
* General knowledge of janitorial work: Maintaining cleanliness of public spaces.
* Ability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours: Being on-call for after-hours emergencies.
