POSITION SUMMARY: Prepares, cooks, and serves foods in quantity at an assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.
REPORTS TO: Lunchroom Manager
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares food according to food safety requirements, and records temperatures of equipment and food at time of service. Reinforces the practice of frequent hand-washing and takes steps to prevent cross-contamination.
- Monitor temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitor water temperatures to assure proper temperature for sanitizing.
- Measure and mixes ingredients according to standardized recipes.
- Assist in storing unused food and supplies; dispose of unusable leftovers; utilize proper methods of handling foods to be stored.
- Observes and tests food being cooked. Takes internal temperature of food to determine that it cooked.
- Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
- Serve food according to established guidelines and replenishing serving containers as needed.
- Keep accurate records of amounts used.
- Clean cafeteria equipment, utensils and appliances and store food supplies; assure compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations.
- Serve on-line as instructed.
- Prepare and bake food for special events as needed; assist at banquets or special events as required.
- Performs any other such duties as so designated by the Lunchroom Manager, Food Service Director, and or Principal.
- Will obtain and stay current on all trainings and or certifications as offered as requirement or employee development.
- Will meet daily goals to ensure the overall daily mission needs are met.
EDUCATION: Any combination equivalent to - high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky Law.
