Cleaner This position is located at our Crisis Center located in Dothan, Alabama Schedule: Monday-Friday 4pm-12:30am with a rotating shift approximately every six weeks (or as needed), requiring 4 hours of work on both Saturday and Sunday. During the weekend rotation, one weekday off will be provided. POSITION SUMMARY/FUNCTION This position involves the performance of day-to-day cleaning of all areas of the SpectraCares Crisis Center by performing routine cleaning of client rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors. The individual hired for this position must demonstrate the ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. This position may require travel within the catchment area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS: 1. Cleans SpectraCares Crisis Services Unit / Diversion facility in a timely manner, maintaining a high level and contstant state of cleanliness. 2.. Responsible for timely cleaning of rooms/recliners of discharged clients to ensure resources are accessible for new admissions. 3. Performs routine cleaning of client rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, kitchen, and corridors in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner 4. Properly disinfect and sanitize all surfaces and objects that come into contact with consumers 5. Performs detailed cleaning of designated areas according to check list 6. Clean, mop, sweep, dust and disinfect the building and store all equipment at the end of the shift 7. Completes work assignments in a timely manner 8. Monitor and replenishes supplies and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies 9. Respond to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills that require immediate attention for safety and security of the Crisis Center 10. Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure 11. Uses and maintains equipment properly 12. Reports safety hazards as appropriate to supervisor 13. Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area 14. Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard universal precautions for cleaning bodily fluids and adhere to isolation precautions 15. Always observes safety precautions 16. Perform laundry management, including washing, drying, and sorting linens if needed 17. Perform detailed deep cleans when required 18. Other special projects or duties as assigned 19. Complete cleaning check list daily for each facility; turning in/filing prior to leaving each facility. 20. Performs other duties including but not limited to: A. Treat individuals with respect and courtesy at all times. B. Ensure necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner with minimal errors and in compliance with applicable guidelines and policies. C. Receive and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously. D. Meet with supervisor as established. E. Follow guidelines of SpectraCare Personnel Policy, SpectraCare Clinical Policy, including but not limited to the Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities. F. Participate in trainings, workshops, in-services and/or administrative meetings as assigned. G. Adhere to Dress Code as set forth in the SpectraCare policies and procedures. H. Performs duties independently and/or with minimal supervision. I. Works in a cooperative manner with other SpectraCare employees, individuals, and/or family members. J. Perform all duties with the highest standard of ethics. K. Functions within professional boundaries with individuals and others. L. Works well with other staff and individuals to ensure safety of program, individuals and other staff. M. Functions and performs well in stressful environments and manages work related stress to ensure individual safety. N. Applies seclusion, protective holds and/or restraint per SpectraCare policy and procedures, if needed. O. Documents crises, protective holds, seclusions and restraints, if needed. P. Participates in beginning/end of shift unit reporting, if needed. Q. Demonstrates willingness to work on any unit / program at SpectraCare based on facility needs as directed. R. Other services, tasks, functions, and responsibilities deemed necessary; not otherwise specified. 21. Regular attendance with timely arrival and departure according to scheduled hours A. Must be able to work full time with rotating assignments as necessary to include but not limited to overtime hours, nights and/or weekends as scheduled. B. To ensure individual safety while on duty, must remain awake during scheduled working hours NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS: Attend all required job-related/system training Assist in other areas as needed Assumes other related duties as assigned Conforms to Systems policies and procedures ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge and mechanical ability to operate the assigned equipment to include but not limited to vacuum cleaner, computers, copy machine, fax machine, etc Knowledge and ability to clean up blood and bodily fluids in the workplace in a safe manner Ability to read instruction manuals printed in English Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions Ability to perform a wide variety of job tasks, in a safe manner without endangering any employee, client, or asset Ability to follow through with assignments with minimal supervision Ability to follow orders and directives and work with supervisor and other staff Ability to adhere to SpectraCare policy, HIPAA laws, and 42 CFR regarding confidentiality Ability to adhere to health and safety standards Ability to stay awake during working shift Basic knowledge of individuals rights Knowledge of mental illness, substance use, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder Knowledge and understanding of crisis intervention techniques Ability to have patience and emotional stability. Ability to respond professionally in a crisis situation. Ability to perform a wide variety of job tasks. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Complete initial new hire training Complete required on the job training (OJT) training by the department Obtain proper certifications needed to perform job duties. Complete annual training as required by the Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities. WORK ENVIORNMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical ability to correctly lift and/or moves up to fifty (50) pounds on an infrequent basis. Required to talk to or hear staff, clients, and/or others Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, and feel frequently. Ability to mop and sweep for long periods of time Ability to make beds and wash/dry clothes for individuals frequently. Physical ability to work assigned shift, occasional overtime as required and local travel with exposure to changing weather conditions There is an occasional need to maintain back extension while being on stomach with ones own body weight on hips and legs. This position is maintained for several minutes. Occasionally, be able to put ones own body weight on one knee and one elbow on the same side of ones body. Occasionally, be able to kneel and reach to same side toward the floor. Strong grasp is needed to open doors throughout the facility, and to maintain constant contact with an individual during a restrain procedure or with other hold techniques. There are times that require the employee to be able to ambulate as quickly as possible to assist coworkers with an individual in a restraint procedure. General clinical environment with frequent exposure to one or more of the following: disagreeable odors, chemicals such as disinfectants, cleansers, soaps, etc; latex, plastic and other materials used for personal protective equipment; noise and distractions; unpleasant sights; unpredictable behaviors; body fluids; contagious diseases; and/or wet floors. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
