Responsibilities/Duties
Assists the association management in the budgeting and accounting processes, which may include providing assistance to the association management in developing projections for all areas of operations.
Oversees the completion of special projects within the accounting department.
Compiles reports and information in connection with audits and/or examinations of the association by system entities and independent firms employed by the system or the association.
Assists in the daily supervision of all as sociation accounting and data processing activities.
Assists in establishing and maintaining internal control policies and procedures as required by the FCA, AgFirst, and sound business principles.
Assists in training all personnel in operations and internal controls.
Education/Experience/Knowledge
Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters degree and CPA designation preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
8-10 years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
Computer literacy including spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.
Proven ability to manage teams and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external auditors, regulatory agencies, correspondent banks, and others.
Problem Solving and Decision Making: Functions under managerial direction. Handles complex projects. Requires evaluative and analytical judgements on a regular basis.
