Part Time Barista & Retail Position

Gluten Free Gem, our independently owned and dedicated gluten free bakery is growing! We are an established mid-size wholesale bakery with a growing retail space. We're looking to hire a friendly customer service person with barista experience to help operate our bakery cafe counter.

Gluten Free Gem produces traditional desserts, cakes, and quick breads that we re proud to say most people can't tell are gluten free. Our employees work closely as a team, and we're serious about our products and good food in general. We're excited to provide tasty allergen-friendly treats to the masses, and we're looking for a knowledgeable and outgoing person to work directly with our customers.

We're hiring a Part Time Position, 3-4 shifts a week including weekends. T is opportunity for hours to grow as we move into the busy holiday season. We operate with consistent weekly schedules for all our employees. Must be available to work mornings, weekends, and around the holidays.

Pay is $16.75 - 17.50/hr DOE + Tips ($5-7/hr). Employer assisted health insurance, Aflac, and paid time off are available to full time employees (32+ hrs/week) after 90 days.

We give regular performance reviews, raises, and promotions, and love showering our employees with birthday cake!

Position Requirements:

Customer service, food service & barista experience

Positive attitude and friendly interaction with customers; awareness of customer needs

Ability to work calmly and quickly in a busy environment

Desire to learn how our bakery works and what makes our products great

Self-motivation, punctuality, and reliability

Assume responsibility nicate clearly with customers and co-workers

Enthusiastic about good food and great coffee

The ability to lift 50 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time

A current food handler's card

Position Tasks:

Opening and/or closing of the shop

Merchandise products for sale

Making espresso, coffee, and tea drinks with proper milk foaming techniques

Money handling

Inventory and stocking shop

Daily and weekly cleaning tasks
