Torero's Cocina Mexicana & Cantina has been open in various forms and locations for over 50 years, and we are looking to add a new bartender to our team! A family and locally-owned restaurant, Torero s is known for house-made tortillas, a family friendly environment, and our famous scratch margaritas. Many of our employees have been with us for 10-15 years as we continue to provide high service standards and many of our guests have been regulars for 5, 10, even 20-30 years.

Things to note:

Available Shifts: PM/Nights

Hours: 27-30 per week

Pay/Compensation: $18.90 (minimum wage) + direct tips + tipout (from serving staff)

** Serves well-known dishes that have been a staple of Renton and the surrounding area for decades.

**This position requires someone who is able to make quality and consistent drinks at a relatively fast pace. This is not a position for someone who cannot pump out drinks quickly.

Requirements/Background:

- Previous bartender experience *required*

- Class 12 Liquor Servers Permit (or obtained within 15 days of hire)

- Food Handlers Card (or obtained within 15 days of hire)

- Previous experience in Mexican restaurant encouraged but not required

- Intermediate (or better) language skills in Spanish and English encouraged but not required

General job duties:

- Verify identification and age requirements of customers

- Mix traditional and creative cocktails to spec

- Process payment from customers

- Clean glasses and bar utensils

- Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences

- Tailor experience of each guest/table to best reflect high service standards of Toreros so as to build repeat guests and maintain loyal guests who have been with us for many years

- Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift, as well as maintain balanced cash drawer when applicable

- Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosp

- Assist servers with correct selling and ringing of drinks as needed

- Depending on shift (all cocktail) will take tables and run food for tables as necessary

- Assist bartender with making drinks and washing dishes as necessary

- Running drinks to restaurant tables as needed

- Other duties as needed/depending on business needs at the time (within reason)
