Lead Housekeeper

Provide leadership to ensure the Housekeeping Department operates in an attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous manner. Provide all guests with quality service and a clean and safe environment throughout their stay, while efficiently managing expenses and maximizing service levels consistent with Rod N Reels quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

Actively oversee and hold housekeeping team accountable for consistent adherence to Rod N Reels quality standards, operating systems/procedures, and sanitation and safety regulations/requirements. Represent, support, and protect the Rod N Reel Resorts brand. Demonstrate Rod N Reel Resorts core values and principles.

Responsibilities

Lead housekeeping and laundry staff, providing input for counseling, termination, performance evaluations, training, and development.

Assist with associate mentoring, training, and development; provide fair and equitable feedback to attain maximum level of guest service.

Ensure quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs.

Maintain room quality based on resort and hotel guidelines.

Monitor and maintain the required level of cleanliness in storage areas, laundry, restrooms, and common areas.

Analyze and resolve work problems.

Motivate associates to achieve work goals.

Train new associates.

Ensure safety standards are strictly followed.

Enforce procedures for the acceptance, security, and return of guests lost and found items.

Enforce procedures for security of on-loan equipment.

Conduct inventories of linen, supplies, and equipment as required.

Immediately alert hotel management of emergency situations via all proper communication avenues.

Complete projects and assignments thoroughly, professionally, and with care.

Adjust to high-pressure conditions and remain open to change.

Consistently maintain a positive demeanor.

Assume responsibility for personal growth and development.

Conduct him/herself (act and dress) professionally at all times; set standards for all associates.

Understand and communicate the resort mission.

Qualifications:

At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in a hotel or a related field with knowledge of chemicals, materials and cleaning techniques and equipment.

Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or lead role over at least 4 employees or 6 months or more on Rod n Reel Resort Housekeeping team.

Able to communicate effectively.

Comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.

High school education and relevant training and experience preferred.

Ability to obtain required licenses or certificates.

CPR and first aid training preferred.

Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

Must have a flexible work schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
