Property Maintenance Technician

Property Maintenance Technician (Somerville) compensation: $30-$45/hr (TBD) employment type: job title: Property Maintenance Position We are a family run property management company, looking for a Maintenance Technician to help preserve the good condition and functionality of our properties, along with respond to tenant maintenance requests. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as carpentry, painting, HVAC, landscaping, light plumbing, light electrical etc. Must have your own tools and a valid drivers license. All properties are in the Somerville and Cambridge area. Responsibilities: Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, etc.) Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, replace toilets, fix leaky faucets etc.) Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.) Skills required: Proven experience as a maintenance technician Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing repairs Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime/weekends when needed Job Type: Full-time Principals only.
