Maintenance Mechanic**

**Job Description**

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining all industrial equipment. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, ensure continuous operation of converting equipment and lines, participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives, and implement technical solutions. Comfort with precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, and multimeters is required.

**Responsibilities**

+ Conduct maintenance on industrial equipment including conveyors, photo eye sensors, packaging equipment, labelers, and cappers.

+ Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.

+ Ensure converting equipment and lines operate continuously.

+ Participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives.

+ Implement technical solutions and perform repairs.

+ Utilize precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.

**Essential Skills**

+ Proficiency in maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

+ Experience with conveyor maintenance and motors.

+ At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and 3-phase motors.

+ Comfortable with changeovers, setups, fillers, pumps, and valves.

+ Troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and preventive maintenance skills.

+ Electrical knowledge and experience.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Preferably 3+ years of experience in a GMP environment.

+ Computer proficiency in MS Office.

+ Minimum 5 years of related manufacturing experience in an FDA facility is ideal.

+ Average candidate should have 3 years of experience in a non-FDA facility.

+ Experience in GMP or food manufacturing is a plus.

**Work Environment**

The facility operates nearly a million square feet of production and distribution centers, running around the clock five days a week. It is a liquid filling facility with strong odors, depending on the department, such as mouthwash, lotion, or alcohol. Candidates with a background in liquid filling or packaging, especially from the food and beverage industry, are preferred due to the FDA regulations.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, Tennessee.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $29.50/hr.
