JOB SUMMARY:This position works in the maintenance department receiving, organizing, delivering warehouse supplies, materials, and equipment. Assembles and fills orders, picks up and delivers supplies, mail, materials and equipment to District sites. Position includes the construction and repair of buildings and equipment as needed. Performs duties with moderate supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned. Follows and maintains knowledge of all applicable District policy(ies) and procedures.Receives and inspects incoming equipment, supplies and foods. Reports shortages, damages or other discrepancies, while meeting well established schedules and timelinesOrganizes, marks and stores stock items in proper location using forklifts, pallet jacks and palletsPerforms periodic counts of stock. Identifies and recommends items requiring ordering.Performs general clerical work in support of warehouse by maintaining logs, files and records.Operate and maintain: clean, sanitary, safe and pest-free vehicles, warehouse/office facilities, equipment as to prevent loss or damage.Perform quality work production to ensure safety.Coordinates warehouse activities with other District staff.Operate forklift, pallet jack, delivery truck. Lawn mowers and sweepers and other power equipment used in grounds work (sprayers, pruners, and trimmers) to ensure they work effectively and safely.Scrapes, sands, fills, or in other manners, prepares surface for painting or repainting.Applies finishes, paints, and stains to various surfaces such as wood, metal, glass, plaster, stucco, wall board, brick and cement.Performs routine maintenance work such as installing recreational equipment, fences, digging ditches, laying pipe, moving bleachers, etc.Performs routine maintenance as assigned by supervisor.May assist in performing plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, construction or repair.Performs minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to supervisor.May have to respond after hours in event of an emergency. 'While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.Works collaboratively with District and building administrators and other department staff to provide reliable service to customers.Communicate clearly with coworkers and other staff.Participate as an effective team member.Provide impeccable customer service.Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, administrators and parents and resolves conflict in a professional manner.Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.Attends work regularly and is punctual.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Working knowledge of maintenance methods and materials and the use of maintenance equipment and/or grounds keeping. Creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and staff. Able to resolve conflict in a professional and respectful manner.Language Skills: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to follow written directions.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Ability to figure proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.Reasoning Ability: Ability to problem-solve issues involving multiple variables in a variety of situations.Computer Skills: General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use e-mail, database, spreadsheets and word processing software. Basic knowledge of work order software program.Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to appropriately communicate with students, teachers, administrators, parents, vendors and members of the community. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certificates as determined by the District. Ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card, a valid Oregon Drivers License and Aerial Lift License. Must maintain a good driving record. Previous hazardous materials and asbestos training preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others including understanding and being understood. The employee will need to operate heavy equipment including a forklift and be able to load, transport, and deliver up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more than 100 pounds. This position will regularly drive a District vehicle to visit sites throughout the district, use ladders and crawl through tunnels to conduct building repairs.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high. The employee is exposed to a variety of conditions including: wet or humid, work near moving parts, work in high precarious places, work in small confined spaces a variety of cleaning agents, some hazardous chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat or cold (i.e. freezer & boiler room), risk of electrical shock and vibration.
