Lure Fishbar Chicago is hiring for a Server Assistant and a Barback position.

Must have great personalities, enthusiasm, knowledge, attention to detail, willingness to learn and follow the standards, and evening availability. At least one to two years of experience in a high-volume or fine-dining restaurant.

BarBack

A barback's primary responsibility is to support bartenders and ensure the smooth operation of a bar. This includes stocking supplies, cleaning, and assisting with customer service. They are the behind-the-scenes force that allows bartenders to focus on crafting drinks and interacting with customers.

Duties

  • Restocking:

Barbacks ensure the bar is well-stocked with essential items like liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and bar supplies.

  • Preparation:

They prepare garnishes (fruits, vegetables, etc.) and mixers, ensuring they are readily available for use.

  • Opening Duties:

Barbacks may assist with setting up the bar area, including organizing liquor shelves and ensuring all necessary equipment is in place.

During Service:

  • Restocking:

Continuously monitor and replenish supplies throughout the shift to prevent shortages.

  • Cleaning:

They clean spills, wash glassware, wipe down counters, and empty trash bins to maintain a clean and organized bar area.

  • Assisting Bartenders:

Barbacks may help with tasks like retrieving items, changing kegs, and even delivering drinks to tables, especially during busy periods.

  • Customer Interaction:

While not their primary focus, barbacks may answer basic customer questions, help with ID checks, and ensure the overall well-being of patrons.

After Service:

  • Closing Duties: Barbacks assist with breaking down the bar, including cleaning counters, tables, and equipment, taking out trash, and preparing the bar for the next shift.
  • Inventory: They may help with inventory counts and deliveries.

Key Skills & Traits:

  • Physical Stamina:

The role involves a lot of movement and lifting, so physical fitness is essential.

  • Organization Skills:

Barbacks need to be organized to manage inventory and keep the bar area tidy.

  • Attention to Detail:

They need to be observant and ensure that all supplies are well-stocked and that the bar is clean and presentable.

  • Customer-Focused Mindset:

While not directly interacting with customers as much as bartenders, barbacks should still be attentive and helpful.

  • Teamwork:

Barbacks work closely with bartenders and other staff, so good communication and teamwork skills are crucial.

BUSSER

It is the primary responsibility of the Busser to assist the Server in accommodating guest while providing courteous and prompt tableside service. Maintain proper table maintenance, mis en place, and cleanliness of your station. Always having a professional and friendly tableside presence.

Duties

  • Has knowledge of the product and specifications.
  • Interacts with guests in a courteous and friendly manner, personalized to their tables/guests.
  • Works with the Server to coordinate a seamless and unintrusive dining experience for guests.
  • Must proactively assist the Server and Management in servicing the guests' needs.
  • Assists Host with pulling out chairs for guests.
  • Maintains a stocked, organized, and clean/sanitized section.
  • Performs proper tableside service procedures for all food and beverage items.
  • Anticipates the guests needs and responds appropriately with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively and respectfully during service with team members.
  • Informs Management of any guest complaints and or negative comments/feedback.
  • Always holds a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Follows all Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Follows uniform and appearance guidelines.
  • Performs assigned opening, mid, or closing sidework as outlined.
  • Follows all procedures and policies set forth by MSH, Lure Fishbar, and Management.

Compensation: Hourly ($12.62) plus tips
