The MAINTENANCE ENGINEER 2 is responsible to ensure luxury resort standards of safety, function, and aesthetic appeal for all resort buildings, furnishings, and equipment.
The expected base wage range for this position is: $22 to $28.75 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:
- To satisfactorily perform, as directed, routine preventive maintenance and repairs in rooms and public areas, including minor electrical, roofing, plumbing, and A/C services.
- To satisfactorily perform, as directed, routine maintenance and repairs of operational equipment, including water features and mechanical systems.
- To satisfactorily perform, as directed, routine painting and finishing tasks, including preparation, taping, product selection, and application.
- To promptly respond to service requests from guests and fellow employees.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance with formal schooling in at least one of the following areas: electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, or plumbing. Able to read, speak, and write English, and to follow simple verbal directions. Able to perform simple calculations, using basic twelfth grade arithmetic. Experienced with typical hand and power tools used to perform assigned duties. Must have Life and Fire Safety system knowledge, steam and gas fired equipment knowledge as well as general knowledge of building construction and materials. Able to interpret drawings and diagrams of the trade. Able to read and troubleshoot using manuals. Must be able to distinguish colors. Hotel experience preferred.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Courteous, friendly manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 95% of shift. Sits/drives approximately 5% of shift. Strength, flexibility, and good reflexes needed to operate staging and mechanized material moving devices, and to operate power-driven machinery. Regularly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 80 lbs. over short distances. Good sight, hearing and balance. Frequent use of stairs, daily. Guest facing position that may handle conflict and/or encounter individuals who may be upset and emotional at times.
TRAVEL: This position is not expected to travel for work.
REMOTE WORK : This position is not eligible to work remotely. The candidate must be able to work in-person during normal business hours.
