Job Summary

Restaurant Associates is seeking a dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team at Atrium Healths new campus. In this role, you will be responsible for menu creation, ordering, menu quantification, and leading a team. You will work closely with the Complex Executive Chef to deliver exceptional catering experiences that meet client expectations and uphold the highest culinary standards. This position will initially operate out of a commissary kitchen until the on-site kitchen is complete. A valid drivers license is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the overall success of the catering program by overseeing daily culinary operations and ensuring adherence to client standards and health regulations.
  • Develop and create catering menus , accurately quantify menu items, and manage product ordering to meet event and client needs.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and food safety.
  • Maintain cost controls and track expenditures to meet financial goals.
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items for a variety of catered events.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in partnership with the culinary and marketing teams.
  • Operate from a commissary location until the on-site kitchen is completed, ensuring seamless catering operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of culinary experience , including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong background in catering, hotels, healthcare, or corporate dining environments.
  • Knowledge of current culinary and industry trends, including menu development, production, sanitation, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, ordering, and production planning .
  • Strong leadership, training, and coaching abilities.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts preferred, or equivalent experience.
