Position Type: Part-time (20 hours per week) Grades: 7th and 8th

Job Summary:

George Moses Horton Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Spanish teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire a love for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures in our 7th and 8th-grade students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging Spanish language curriculum for 7th and 8th-grade students
• Create lesson plans that align with North Carolina World Language Essential Standards
• Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
• Assess and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records
• Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate Spanish into other subject areas
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events as needed
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or related field
• North Carolina teaching license with Spanish (K-12) endorsement, or ability to obtain one
• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Experience teaching Spanish at the middle school level preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Familiarity with technology integration in language instruction
