This is a Part Time/Part Year position (28 hours per week). This is an hourly position at a rate of $16.71 per hour. The cook will provide for nutritional services that contribute to the development and socialization of enrolled infants, toddlers, and children by preparing and serving a variety of developmentally appropriate high-quality foods, in compliance with all applicable Federal, State rules and regulations and food safety and sanitation procedures including those related to the safe storage, preparation and service of food.

BENEFITS: Vacation, sick and personal time accruals. Part Year employees have built in vacations which include 2 weeks in winter, spring break (part year staff follow the school district calendar in which their program is located) and summers off.

Requirements

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, valid drivers license and vehicle. Additional training in food service operations or production kitchens and knowledge and experience with CACFP preferred.

Employees must be able to demonstrate at all times that they are physically, mentally, and emotionally able to meet the requirements of their job.

Physical Demands:

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The employee primarily works indoors within a school building. The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate, depending on the location of the work being performed.
  • The employee occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions for short periods of time, and may need to travel.
  • The employee may encounter illness and/or be exposed to situations that require CPR or first-aid to be administered.
  • The employee works with equipment capable of causing injury if proper precautions are not exercised.
