General Maintenance Technician - Agrauxine

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Champion and support company safety culture, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and repair plant equipment including pumps, compressors, blowers, separators, and automated packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Maintain and repair piping systems, including valves, fittings, hoses, and related components.
  • Complete and document all scheduled preventive maintenance work.
  • Process assigned work orders and enter all pertinent information in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Meet with supervisor daily to review schedule and work assignments.
  • Complete all required training for equipment operation, plant procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain and sanitize work areas according to company standards.
  • Follow directives given by supervisors and managers.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.
  • Some overtime and on-call duties will be required.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative and solution-oriented approach to work.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned at supervisor's/manager's discretion.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's degree in industrial maintenance, related field, or completion of applicable apprenticeship program.
  • In lieu of degree, 2-4 years of equivalent work experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Experience in an industrial maintenance setting preferred.
  • Experience maintaining and rebuilding pumps and associated equipment preferred.

Required Certifications:

  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to obtain scissor lift certification.
  • Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles.
  • Ability to be certified to wear a full-faced respirator or PAPR.
  • This position requires the use of respiratory protection equipment. Employees must be able to pass a respiratory fit test.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, feel, reach and pull. The employee is occasionally required to sit up to 1 hour at a time and talk or hear. Occasionally, the employee will be required to bend, twist and use stairs/ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus and read computer screens and monitors.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
