On-Call Cook/Server | Sunland Golf Club
Create menu magic and make hungry people happy. Showcase your skills by providing daily preparation requirements while working together with the culinary team to ensure quality and constancy of food items. Our Cook/Server position at Sunland Golf Club is responsible for reading and interpreting recipes, conducting inventory and adhering to standards for sanitation and safe food handling procedures. The position will also serve in the restaurant on-site.

What you’ll do:
The Brass Tacks
- Utilizes specification sheets to prepare daily preparation requirements, maintains par levels of necessary items
- Prepares new menu items under direction of supervisor
- Ensures attractive, consistent presentations of food items, both buffet and plated
- Interacts with line cooks to monitor quality, presentation and consistency of food items prepared
- Handles all needs and accommodates customer requests in a timely manner
- Sets up, re-stocks, maintains, and cleans food preparation areas
- Responsible for ensuring presentation standards are meet for all hot and cold items
- Reads and interprets recipes
- Responsible for all opening and closing kitchen procedures
- Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards
- Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team
- Assembles food items, such as appetizers, salads and soups
- Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature
- Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items
- Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures
- Keeps work area, including guest dining area, clean and organized
The Nitty Gritty
- Previous cooking experience required
- Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)
- Necessary State alcohol serving license (MAST)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Must possess knife skills, the ability to adjust preparations for flavor, and accommodate customer’s needs in a timely manner.
