Are you a passionate and experienced culinary professional ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding leadership role? We have an exciting opportunity for a Sous Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen as we enter our busy summer season.
Overview:
The Sous Chef works closely with the Chef, overseeing all kitchen facets to ensure positive and successful daily service. This role acts as Kitchen Manager in the Chef's absence, collaborating with the BOH team, Bar Manager, and General Manager to resolve issues and maintain seamless operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience and expertise across allmon kitchen line stations (e.g., saute, grill, pantry, pastry, expo).

Leading by Example:

Cultivate a positive attitude andposure, especially during peak service.
Uphold all health rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
Ensure the consistent cleanliness of the workspace and restaurant.
Demonstrate flexibility and strong teamwork, assisting both FOH and BOH as needed.
Effective Communication:
Foster positive and openmunication between Front of House and Back of House.
Provide real-time coaching, correction, and encouragement to BOH staff.
Maintain regularmunication with management, utilizing the BOH pass-down log.
Business Growth and Guest Relations:
Actively participate in the training of new staff and the ongoing development of current team members.
Identify opportunities to improve kitchen systems and implement positive changes, ensuring clearmunication to staff.
Accurately log guest requests,plaints, and praise to inform improvements.
Operational Monitoring:
Assist in controlling inventory and minimizing food waste.
Optimizing scheduling with the Chef to ensure staffing according to business needs
Ensure consistent food quality and correctness across all dishes.
Oversee dish quality and cleanliness standards.
Maintain a big-picture perspective of kitchen operations, providing support to other stations as needed.
Setting The Team Up for Success:
Verify that orders are correctly placed and address immediate needs on the fly.
Ensure line cooks are on task and fully prepared for busy service periods.
Document prep needs throughout the workday, updating prep lists as necessary.
Making Every Shift Successful:
Inform FOH staff promptly of menu changes, daily specials, and 86'd items.
Ensure staffplete and effectively utilize prep lists and cleaning projects.
Maintain fast ticket times while upholding exceptional food quality.
Expertly expedite tickets during service.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and be mindful of guest visibility and audibility.
