Position Overview
The Food Runner / Server Assistant at Cabot Citrus Farms plays a key role in supporting food and beverage operations across the property. This position involves delivering food, beverages, and stock to various comfort stations, events, and dining areas using a golf cart. Responsibilities also include assisting servers, helping set up and break down banquets, ensuring efficient service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization at all service locations.
Key Responsibilities
Food & Beverage Delivery:
• Transport food, beverages, and supplies to multiple comfort stations, cottages, and event spaces using a golf cart. • Ensure all deliveries are accurate, timely, and properly stocked according to par levels. • Monitor inventory levels at all locations and notify management if anything is running low. • Communicate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to coordinate deliveries and replenish inventory as needed. • Handle food and beverage items with care, following health and safety standards. Service Assistance: • Support servers by delivering food orders to guests in dining areas. • Provide guests with basic descriptions of menu items if needed. • Assist in pre-bussing tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining a clean dining environment. • Refill water and assist with beverage service when necessary. Banquet & Event Support: • Assist with the setup and breakdown of banquets and events, including lifting and moving chairs, tables, and equipment. • Be adaptable and ready to adjust layouts or service details at the request of guests or managers while maintaining an upbeat attitude. • Ensure all comfort stations are fully stocked with food, beverages, and supplies throughout the day. General Maintenance & Cleanliness: • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all service areas, including storage spaces and carts. • Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols. • Ensure that all used dishes and service items are promptly returned to designated areas.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service or host experience is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
- Knowledge of basic restaurant operations and etiquette is beneficial.
- Ability to maintain a positive and approachable demeanor at all times.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, especially during seating in outdoor patios or garden areas, including sun, rain, wind, or cold temperatures.
- Ability to stand and move around for extended periods.
- Exerting up to 50+ pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, adapting to weather conditions.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed - Open Availability Required.
