This position is for the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion. Acceptance of this position cannot be withdrawn if tentative start date is within the next 60 days.
The tentative start date for this position is on or after 9/1/2025.
Duties including but not limited to:
- Perform terminal cleaning of operating room suites.
- Operate mechanical cleaning and scrubbing equipment, strip and refinish floor surfaces.
- Collect and transport waste materials/soiled linen to central location, wash walls and ceilings, clean restrooms and operate vacuum cleaning equipment.
- Be able to perform all cleaning duties that relate to the Environmental Services Department.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
- Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
This position is 40 hours Midnights / Monday-Friday / 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
