Job Details Major Food Group is looking for talented Line Cooks to join our culinary team at Carbone in the Dallas Design District!

Carbone is an Italian-American restaurant created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalanick. The restaurant pays homage to the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century New York. The food nods to that history, but takes its bulinary cues from the great talents and techniques of the present and future. Familiar dishes like SEafood Salad, Linguini Vongole, Lobster Fra Diavola, Chicken Scarpariello and Veal Parmesan elevated to a new level.

Carbone Vino, located just across the courtyard from Carbone is a new concept from Major Food Group celebrating timeless artisanship and the most coveted wines of Italy complete with a thousand bottle wine cellar. The menu features an extensive selection of handmade pastas, Sicilian pizzas, signature entrees like spicy rigatoni and friend veal chop prepared your way, and fresh gelato served table-side.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chefs instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
  • Team-orientated and positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills a must

Compensation: Hourly ($19.00 - $23.00)
