Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Deli Cook to work in a production kitchen; cooking, preparing our approved list of recipes. The cooks also prepare the food for the line stations in the Deli for the custom build services. In addition, they will be responsible for their prep list and assigned recipes and preparation in getting their stations ready for production, prep, set up and dismantling and cleaning at the end of the day.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The Deli Cook is responsible for cooking and preparing our approved list of recipes.
  • Uphold and enforce high levels of food safety standards and practices.
  • Obtain a 95% or better score on all our EcoSure audits.
  • Plan for forecasted sales and increase production based on pars, day of week, and special events like First Friday and Local Day.
  • Model respectful communication with front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) regarding production needs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the preparation of assigned foods are according to the approved recipes and are made in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure we are reducing waste and shrink by following pars, executing samples, and completing the daily shrink reporting while ensuring its accuracy.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of assigned stations throughout the day as needed for food safety and ensuring the floors are free from debris.
  • Maintain the grab & go set on the sales floor to ensure we are 100% in-stock using proper food rotation standards.
  • Safely and effectively use small and large kitchen equipment including ovens, stove, tilt skillet, immersion blenders, food processors, mixers and other kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to communicate to the Leads/Orderers inventory levels to ensure proper pars on ingredients to make the recipes.

  • Ability to follow directions both verbal and written, read recipes and understand cooking measurements.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts and be ready for work when shift begins.
  • Ability to consistently be at work and on time.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
