Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

HS Diploma/GED. Two (2) years of progressively responsible, full-time administrative experience. Experience with Microsoft Suite and/or Google Docs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Customer service experience. Experience in a Higher Education/Academic environment. Experience with and knowledge of Stony Brook University policies & procedures. Google Calendar proficiency. Receptionist and/or appointment scheduling experience.

Brief Description of Duties:

This position is responsible for providing staff, students and visitors of the SBDC office with professional, courteous, and effective customer service. The incumbent supports the Director in all administrative tasks and plays a key role in the center's efficiency.

Responsible for the reception of SBDC phone lines, scheduling of general staff meetings, workshops and client documentation for case and workshop data entry. Greet and ensure the client completes necessary paperwork prior to appointments. File and record-retention for all client case folders and workshop information preparation data in compliance with SBA requirements. Serve as the main receptionist and scheduler. Manage client documentation and workshop folders. Receive and distribute mail appropriately. Handle workshop registrations and AV setup. Monitor office secure entry system. Maintain calendars for Director and satellite offices. Schedule client appointments daily. Take minutes during staff meetings. Operate and maintain office equipment. Oversee supplies management. Train student interns on front desk duties.

Other duties as assigned.
