General Definition:
- Serves guests and collects payment for meals and beverages in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide friendly, fast and helpful customer service, through the consistent practice and delivery of red carpet customer service to all guests and team members.
- Ensures proper and timely set up for Live Racing.
- Maintains adequate levels of rolled silverware
- Fills Salt & Pepper shakers as well as sugar caddies daily.
- Maintains clean, well-stocked and organized work areas/stations.
- Serves food & beverages as ordered by customers quickly and efficiently.
- Communicates clearly with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Maintains a working knowledge of menus to relay accurate information to guests.
- Organizes duties and work area to maximize timely service delivery to guests.
- Provides specific direction to support staff (busser, and bartenders) in a courteous manner as needed.
- Observes guests needs and responds to any additional requests.
- Ensures all food and beverage items are rung up correctly, by table, each day.
- Ensures guests are being charged correctly and all checks are being closed out according to proper company policies and procedures.
- Transfers tips to all applicable positions to ensure proper tracking and reporting of tips and gratuities.
- Works directly with Manager and supervisor to perform essential point of sale system functions such as comps, voids, transfers, etc.
- Performs cash drops to cash recycling machine when needed.
- Works directly with busser to ensure guests tables have been sufficiently cleared off in a timely manner during live racing.
- Assist in other areas as needed or when directed by management.
- Contributes to a friendly and productive work environment; reports concerns directly to Food & Beverage Supervisor.
- Knows and understands the proper operation of all job-related equipment.
- Observes all related safety procedures when handling equipment, liquids, dishes, etc.
- Uses proper protective equipment as directed at all times.
- Uses the proper lifting techniques when handling trays, dishes, and similar items.
- Attends all departmental and company-mandated meetings as required.
- Immediately reports all workplace injuries to the Food & Beverage Supervisor.
- Reports any unsafe acts, conditions, or equipment to the Food & Beverage Supervisor.
- Knows all appropriate first aid kit(s) locations and eyewash stations.
- Knows the location of the fire-fighting equipment and fire exits for the area.
- Maintains clean uniform at all times.
- Dependability, good attendance, and occasional overtime required.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or combination
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service and communications skills required. Ability to apply common understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardize situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capacity write simple correspondence and possess basic mathematical skills.
- Outgoing personality and positive attitude.
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, service procedures and function.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to handle money and operate a cash register quickly and efficiently.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Possess honesty and integrity.
- Have good memory when handling multiple orders.
- Ability to listen well, communicate effectively and follow instructions.
- Excellent communication skills required. Bilingual skills helpful, but not required.
- Ability to interact positively with customers, employees and management personnel.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be flexible.
- Ability to work as part of a team and with constant interruptions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Training:
- Two years of food and beverage operation experience required.
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
- Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission License (TABC)
- Serve-safe certified (Food Handlers)
