Summer Assistant Event Coordinator - Temporary

Summary This position is needed during the heavy downtown event season whichruns from May through September. This position will assist in a varietyof tasks associated with coordinating marketing and executing downtown eventsincluding managing scheduled entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights,developing and posting to social media sites, website updates, distributinginformation and general office duties.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating eventplanning, logistics, and execution for a variety of downtown events.
• D evelop marketing materials toeffectively promote events.
• Create content for the DowntownMidland website and social media channels.
• Cultivate relationships withdowntown businesses and the local community.
• Ensure the Pedestrian Plaza isrestocked and organized post-event to maintain a clean and welcomingenvironment.
• Capture photographs and videos ofevents for promotional use.
• Support evening and weekend eventsby coordinating entertainment arrivals, assisting with setup, and ensuringtimely execution of entertainment responsibilities.
• Provide general office support.
• Be a proud representative ofDowntown Midland.

General Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid drivers license with a good driving record;
• Must pass a physical; drug screen; and criminal background check;
• Must be able to work outside and perform some heavy lifting as needed;
• Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Knowledge; Skills and Abilities

• Experience in formulating; planning; organizing and promoting events or activities;
• Some marketing experience preferred;
• Good human relations skills with a strong customer satisfaction ethic;
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal;
• General office skills with experience using office software.

Additional Information Pay rate is $16.25/hour.25 - 35 hours per week.
