Job DetailsPosition Summary:
The Busser | Runner at Roxy Bar plays a vital support role in ensuring seamless front-of-house service. Responsibilities include clearing and resetting tables, delivering food from the kitchen to the floor, maintaining clean and organized stations, and supporting servers in delivering exceptional guest service. This role also includes participation in In-Room Dining (IRD) by accurately and professionally delivering orders to hotel rooms in accordance with service standards. The Busser | Runner must uphold all Department of Health (DOH) sanitation protocols, communicate effectively with team members, and maintain a polished, guest-focused demeanor at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clear, clean, and reset tables in a timely and efficient manner, following established floor standards.
- Deliver food promptly from the kitchen to guest tables with accuracy and awareness of dish composition.
- Restock and maintain service stations with polished glassware, silverware, napkins, and service ware throughout service.
- Refill guest water glasses, observe guest needs, and support servers in delivering attentive service.
- Polish silverware and glassware to ensure readiness for each shift.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of guest-facing areas, including floors, service stations, and staging areas.
- Follow DOH standards and all sanitation practices during service and side work.
- Maintain open communication with servers and kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination of service.
- Perform In-Room Dining (IRD) delivery duties:
- Verifying accuracy and presentation of all IRD orders before delivery.
- Transporting food safely and discreetly to guest rooms using approved hotel service protocols.
- Presenting items to guests in a courteous, professional manner while offering menu or service clarification as needed.
- Handling in-room setups (e.g., tray or table placement), retrieval of finished orders, and documentation of delivery times and signatures.
- Ensuring IRD delivery equipment (trays, carts, dome covers, etc.) is clean, stocked, and stored properly after use.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in high-volume or fine dining restaurants or hotel food service.
- Familiarity with In-Room Dining or room service procedures preferred.
- Excellent guest service skills and professional demeanor.
- Fluency in English, verbal and written.
- Knowledge of food allergies and safe handling practices.
- Strong understanding of DOH health and sanitation standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to work with urgency and accuracy.
Work Environment:
- Food & Beverage outlets, kitchen areas, and guest room floors.
- Exposure to variable temperatures, noise levels, and cleaning chemicals.
- Standing, walking, and carrying trays or carts for prolonged periods.
Compensation: Hourly ($11.00) plus tips
