This position is responsible for supervising and executing all aspects of food preparation for Mid-Day pool service and In-Room Dining/Take-Out dining
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.
- Execute food preparation tasks as assigned by the Chefs, including vegetable preparation, meat fabrication, sauce making, sauté, meat cookery, frying, and more
- Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and kitchen storage spaces
- Responsible for ensuring daily mise en place and cooking food to order
- Responsible for daily and weekly inventories as assigned by the management team
- Assist with receiving deliveries to the kitchen
- Take direction and follow recipes
- Work in a supervised environment
- Work at a steady pace, with a service orientation and the ability to quicken the pace as required
- Able to coordinate production over multiple days and plan for a smooth transition when other team members take over the station
- Able to plan out a workday and accomplish multiple tasks
- Know basic and advanced food product identification and preparation
- Able to maintain an organized and sanitary workstation
- Able to work in a friendly team environment
- Taste food for quality assurance
- Prepare food in order to accommodate special dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences
- This position may also be called upon to help with group service dinners, or with Three Sisters dinner service
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position, regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Culinary Arts Degree Preferred, but not required
- Intermediate understanding of proper food handling procedures
- Intermediate knife skills
- Kitchen operations experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of Team Members and Guests in a professional and courteous manner
- Must be able to read and understand recipes
- Must be able to communicate with other cooks to ensure timely delivery of dishes to guests
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Understanding of Basic Math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for a long period of time
- Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
- Must be able to safely operate kitchen equipment such as meat slicers, fryers, flat tops, ovens, and gas burners.
