Come join our team of Enthusiasts at the Canopy by Hilton located in beautiful downtown Grand Rapids!

We are searching for an energetic Food & Beverage Front of House Manager who will lead our dedicated team of F&B Enthusiasts and help create unforgettable dining experiences for our guests. This individual will oversee Portico, a stylish café-style eatery situated just off the hotel lobby. Furthermore, we host a variety of meetings and events in our vibrant event space and offer banquet services. You will also play a key role in leading the banquets team and managing the operations of these services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise and motivate restaurant front-of-house staff, including banquets, fostering a positive and professional environment
  • Oversee daily operations of breakfast, lunch service and banquets, ensuring efficiency and quality standards
  • Manage staffing schedules, training, and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to align service and kitchen operations
  • Monitor guest feedback and address concerns to maintain high satisfaction ratings
  • Understand how to navigate the restaurant POS system
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and Canopy brand standards
  • Manage inventory, supplies, and cost controls within the department
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting for F&B operations
  • Oversee the organization and cleanliness of all restaurant and banquet areas
  • Develop initiatives to increase revenue, elevate guest experience, and improve workflow

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Food & Beverage leadership experience
  • Knowledge of hospitality systems (POS, reservation platforms, inventory tools) is a plus

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Satisfactory criminal background screening required – Valid driver’s license and safe driving record may be required

This position manages Portico front of house staff

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This position requires variable hours based on the needs of the hotel including nights and weekends.
