Primary Purpose

Supervise the campus custodial operations; establish and follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations, and grounds.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Monitor and direct the work of custodians at assigned campus.
  2. Must take charge of all activities and relay night activities to evening operator.
  3. Help in the scheduling and training of custodians.
  4. Plan, oversee, and participate in all custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  5. Monitor timecards of all custodial employees.
  6. Maintain an inventory and order custodial supplies from operations department.
  7. Strive constantly to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees.
  8. Be responsible for the general fire safety, health and comfort of the students and employees.
  9. Strive constantly to promote District energy management and IPM programs.
  10. Perform emergency minor repairs and cleaning service as necessary.
  11. Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, neat and clean at all times.
  12. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are secured and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
  13. Be responsible for daily cleaning of offices, lunchrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, including dusting furniture.

  22. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  23. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  24. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  25. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  26. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Including but not limited to buffer, scrubber, wet/dry vacuum, shampooer, extractor, and other small electrical tools.

Strenuous walking, standing and/or climbing; lifting up to 80 pounds; exposure to hot/cold

temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; work outside and inside; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders
