p/ph1Job Description/h1pbuJOB SUMMARY:/u/b/ppUnder direct supervision, this position performs custodial services for the College at assigned location. Responsibilities include: cleaning and minor maintenance of buildings externally and internally. Areas to be cleaned include classrooms, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, walls, carpets, floors, doors, light fixtures, entrance areas, cigarette and trash receptacles, classroom and dining tables, chairs, doors, windows and glass panes. Assisting with the set-up of furniture for special events as needed./pp/pp/ppbuSPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:/u/b/pulliPerform cleaning duties such as sweeping, cleaning of windows and light fixtures; mopping; vacuuming; emptying trash; wiping white boards; dusting and wiping desks, window sills, and baseboards;/liliClean classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, entrance areas, public areas; cleans and sanitizes restrooms and cafe areas;/liliUse a bucket truck to clean higher windows and make minor repairs./liliScrub, wax, and buffs floors; clean and shampoo carpets./liliCheck and replenish paper and suppliesbu./u/b/liliPromote safe work environment./liliMove and rearrange furniture; set up banquet tables; and clean up after events./liliPick up trash; deliver garbage bags to dumpsters./liliMay perform various projects as assigned./liliPolitely and helpfully assist faculty and students with directions and assistance regarding general campus and classroom location or information is an integral part of the duties for this position;/li/ululliComplete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned./li/ulp/pp/ppbuQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:/u/b/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred);/liliOne (1) year of related work experience performing general cleaning tasks; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job./liliValid Florida driver's license./liliPass training in Bloodborne pathogens, CPR, and Bleeding Control Basics./liliProven work experience and the ability to perform general cleaning tasks competently, thoroughly and efficiently;/liliProven knowledge in general custodial responsibilities including the ability to utilize various cleaning materials and equipment in a safe, proper, and efficient manner;/liliProven ability to use custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers and scrubbers, mops, and other cleaning devices and associated products while promoting a safe work and learning environment;/liliPossess the ability to work positively, cooperatively and supportively as a member of a custodial team;/liliInteract pleasantly, professionally, diplomatically, and positively with co-workers, faculty, staff, and students in a professional academic setting;/liliComputer literate and possess the ability to understand verbal and written instructions. /liliAbility to take direction from their immediate supervisor, constructive criticism with a positive attitude, and respond positively and supportively to any change in daily or building assignments;/liliBe flexible with respect to daily assignments and be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision at all times. /liliValid Florida driver's license;/li/ulp/pp/ppbuPHYSICAL DEMANDS:/u/b/ppPhysical skills required include the ability to operate cleaning equipment and also thespan ability to walk, bend and stand for extended periods of time. Lifting, reaching, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, handling powered custodial equipment and carry items occasionally in excess of/span (span50) pounds is also an expectation and requirement. /spanThe employee must be in good physical condition in order to do the type of work required. The position aspanl/spanso requires the knowledge, experience and manual dexterity to operate such standard custodial machines such as buffers, floor polishers, and extractors.
