Kitchen Staff

Lyons Locale, a soon to be open cocktail/ wine bar is looking for experienced skilled kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen during service hours. This role will be assisting with food preparation, with an eye for details for creating attractive charcuterie plates and small bites. The presentation is as important as the deliciousness of our creations, therefore kitchen staff must take pride in their creations and strive for creating beautiful food. Tasks will involve plating charcuterie plates, replenishing food by chopping, dicing and measuring items following recipes and instructions for menu items. Monitoring food inventory and communicating to owners supply needs. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen through dishwashing, sanitizing utensils and equipment nightly. Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring food safety is a must.
The right kitchen staff to be able to jump in to support the wait staff as needed, will help create a relaxing, enjoyable experience for Lyons Locals and travelers alike to enjoy our unique town and catch up with friends over drinks and bites. Staff is expected to be a team player, effective communicators to the bar manager and kitchen staff to make sure customers enjoy their experience. Contributing to growing the clientele through supporting social media opportunities, creating event ideas and providing consumer feedback.

Opening scheduled for beginning of September with paid orientation and training prior to opening.

Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients by slicing, chopping and measuring items.
Plating menu items as they are ordered for in dining consumers
Reading tickets and occasionally running food from kitchen to correct table
Preparing prepared to go platters nightly and tracking freshiness
Tracking freshiness of all ingredients, monitoring and communicating food inventory needs.
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including sanitizing utensils and equipment
Keep dishes washed and steady supply for consumers
Support the front of the house as needed, bussing tables
Support keeping the dining area and patio clean and tidy throughout the day
Follow all relevant health department regulations and internal standard operating procedures
Provide excellent customer service to guests
Provide social media support

Qualifications and Skills
Proven work experience as kitchen staff
Hands on experience with food service
Excited to provide a fun, enjoyable atmosphere and has patience for customers
Can stand for long periods of time and able to lift up to 25 pounds
Has an eye for details and food presentation
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shared responsibilities for providing an enjoyable dining experience.
Excellent presentation skills
Reliable, with strong work ethic, a positive attitude and passion for being a part of a hospitality team.

Overall Expectations & Compensation
We expect kitchen staff to work at least three shifts a week, for a minimum of 26 hours a week. Evening shift hours Thursday, Friday are 3:30pm- 8pm. Saturday and Sunday 12pm-8pm.
The kitchen will close Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sunday at 7pm.
We will compensate at a $15 base rate in addition to tips during service hours. Lyons Locale will establish a 3% universal service charge added to every dining service bill, in addition to tip prompts on point of sale.
With a clearly articulate a policy that states:
3% service charge is added to every bill which allows us to equitably compensate everybody that contributes to your Lyons Locale experience from the back of the house to the front of the house. Additional gratuity for exceptional service is greatly appreciated by your server or bartender.
