The primary responsibility of the Dining Room Worker/Server is to prepare the dining room for service, take food orders, serves residents, staff, and guests courteously, and ensures cleanliness and food safety in all dining areas. This role supports a positive dining experience through gracious service, sanitation, and collaboration with the kitchen team.
Schedule 4-7pm with an every other weekend rotation, weekend schedule may be 11a-7p.
Essential Functions
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Greet, seat, and take orders from residents, guests, and team members
- Deliver meals promptly and accurately; clear tables and reset for next service
- Maintain clean and sanitary dining rooms, serving areas, and kitchen prep areas
- Attend daily dining meetings and food safety sessions
- Support orientation of new team members and report hazards or equipment issues
- Comply with VDH regulations and organizational policies related to food safety and resident confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school graduate, GED, or equivalent experience
- Strong customer service skills
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Prior food handling or server experience preferred
