Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Room Service Cook - to join our Nutrition Services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe preparation and delivery of high-quality meals in accordance with standard recipes, dietary requirements, and health regulations. This role plays a critical part in supporting the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals following standard recipes and department guidelines.
Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained, and used according to safety standards.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to state and hospital sanitation regulations.
Accurately record and monitor food and equipment temperatures in compliance with regulatory standards.
Prepare meals for patients, staff, catered events, and special dietary needs in accordance with prescribed schedules.
Properly store leftovers and food items in compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.
Ensure all food served is palatable, properly seasoned, and meets regional, cultural, and dietary expectations.
Keep food lines and cafeteria areas adequately stocked during service hours.
Safely operate and clean kitchen equipment, following manufacturer instructions and required dwell times.
Assist in additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the hospital's mission and vision
Qualifications
- Required: Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Preferred: 1 to 2 years previous cook experience.
- Preferred: Serv-Safe certification.
- Required: Food Handler Certification.
