We are seeking a reliable Dishwasher to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the kitchen by ensuring all dishware, utensils, cookware, and food preparation equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. You will help keep the kitchen environment sanitary and organized, contributing to the smooth operation of our dining services.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a long-term care setting and a genuine passion for supporting the elderly. Strong customer service skills and a positive, friendly attitude are essential.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, food carts, and food preparation equipment.
  • Maintain a steady supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware for dining areas and table settings.
  • Ensure pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are clean and ready for use by kitchen staff.
  • Clean work areas and all equipment used in food preparation.
  • Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices rigorously.
  • Assist with general kitchen cleaning, including walls, floors, and trash removal.
  • Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude at all times.
  • Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • One (1) plus year of serving experience preferred - were happy to train the right candidate!
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting preferred; experience in a long-term care environment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and food safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and customer service skills.
  • A heartfelt passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older adults within a supportive CCRC community.
  • A current COVID-19 vaccine is preferred in support of our commitment to resident and staff well-being.
  • Must possess the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform a wide range of physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, reaching overhead, pushing/pulling, and grasping with both hands.
