Overview

The Barista at the Bradley hotel will contribute to the mission and success of the hotel by creating exceptional ways of personalizing and providing the best guest service in the hospitality industry and ensuring our high standards of service are met. The Barista will provide prompt and courteous service and quality beverages to all guests, encouraging the guest to return again. The Barista is responsible for providing quality guest services that include providing a positive first and last impression and a friendly, upbeat and clean atmosphere to every guest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Welcomes and connects with every guest. Delivers legendary customer service to all guests by performing job duties with a "customer comes first" attitude.
  • Anticipate customer, hotel and department needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cue.
  • Strive to understand the needs and preferences of the guests and ensure that those needs and preferences are met.
  • Create a positive atmosphere. Express friendly and warm guest service with a smile.
  • Operate and maintain the espresso machine.
  • Prepares quality espresso drinks, hot and cold blended beverages to standards.
  • Process information/merchandise through POS register system
  • Set-up and maintain pastry bar.
  • Follow and maintain the Hotel’s professional image guidelines to communicate the Provenance style message to the guests and the general public.
  • Works effectively with others. Maintains open communication among team members. Provide constructive feedback that will improve guest service or operational effectiveness to hotel management.
  • Exhibit good judgment in executing all aspects of the position.
  • Follows operational policies and procedures to include cash/cash equivalent, safety and security to ensure safety of all employees during each shift.
  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure own safety, safety of all guests and fellow employees. Know fire and emergency procedures.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with Hotel standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.


Qualifications

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed. Effective oral communication skills.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to build relationships. Must provide the highest customer service to all guest. Ability to interact with guests using the "Hospitality Standards" set out by your General Manager. Attention to detail: must pay continuous attention to the preparation of drinks, the handling of money, and the operation of the cash register. Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
