Rock Creek School District has an immediate opening for a Food Service/Cook .

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation, Serving and Clean-Up

1. Recognizes and treats the student as a priority customer.
2. Participates in the preparation and serving of all food in the assigned kitchen according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
3. Prepares, stores and serves food at proper temperatures.
4. Follows established food safety and sanitation procedures.
5. Reports any equipment needing repair or replacement to Kitchen Manager.
6. Tastes all finished products prior to serving to ensure the food is of high quality with good flavor and appearance.
7. Reports immediately to Kitchen Manager any problem or accident occurring in the kitchen or cafeteria.
8. Participates in the daily cleaning of kitchen, serving, storage and dining areas including kitchen equipment, washing and sterilizing of all dishes, flatware and utensils.
9. Prepares serving line and supplies the line during service periods.
10. Participates in major cleaning of refrigerators and other equipment at regularly scheduled intervals as needed or as designated by Director.
11. Holds and disposes of trash and garbage in a safe and orderly manner.
12. Participates, as requested, in special meal functions, provides meeting refreshments, and fills special meal requests for student functions made by faculty and staff, as appropriate.
13. Confers with Kitchen Manager or Director regarding any personnel problems.
14. Maintains a positive attitude.

Receiving and Storage

1. Stores and disposes of unused food after meals as designated by Kitchen Manager.
2. Stores food items as they are delivered into the food service area.
3. Assists with maintaining kitchen and storage areas that are well organized.

Continuing Education and Training

1. Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
2. Participates in training opportunities.

Benefits Information

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Section 125 benefits available as per Board policy. Vacation, holidays, and leave as per Board policy.

Salary Information

Compensation at an hourly rate, will be adjusted to years of experience.

Rock Creek USD 323 is a progressive, growing district with approximately 1,300 students. We are the first school district east of Manhattan and encompass several communities.

Rock Creek has an elementary school in Westmoreland and one in St. George. St. George Elementary completed two new additions in 2014.

We completed a new strength & conditioning facility and a three room addition to Rock Creek High School, spring 2014. A new district office was completed in 2019, and our new middle school opened for the 2020-2021 school year. Upgrades to the football stadium were completed fall 2013 and a new softball field was completed for the 2015 season. We also opened our new baseball field on the Rock Creek campus for the 2021 season. We will have an updated track and field facility for the start of the 2024/2025 school year.

The high school, middle school and district office are located halfway between the communities of Westmoreland & St. George.

Our state assessment scores are among the highest in the state. Our curriculum includes innovative programs at all grade levels and 1:1. Classroom iPad sets at grades K-6, and Chromebooks at grades 7-12.
