Savory Sous Chef Requirements & Qualification s

Minimum 3 years of management experience in high-volume savory kitchens

At least 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef in a fine dining or upscale environment

Excellent communication, team leadership, and conflict resolution skills

Ability to manage a 45+ hour work week with open availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

ServSafe certified and proficient in food safety and sanitation protocols

Savory Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills

Strong understanding of savory menu development, batch recipe production, and kitchen operations

Proven experience with food and labor cost control, inventory, and purchasing from approved vendors

Skilled in leading, training, and coaching kitchen teams with a focus on execution and professional growth

Able to coordinate with event planners and front-of-house teams for smooth service and event execution

Proficient with commercial kitchen equipment and troubleshooting repairs as needed

Passionate about consistency, quality control, and exceeding guest expectations

Experienced in maintaining kitchen standards aligned with health code compliance and brand SOPs

Collaborative leader who supports cross-departmental communication and team engagement
